Yes, the holidays are most certainly a part of it, but for Nevada residents there is nothing quite like community events which reminds us of what we cherish the most…togetherness. Not only can we visit with friends and family, we can also rejoice in the magic of the season, while getting our fill of the gorgeous Nevada weather. We’re pointing you and your loved ones, especially those that have never visited Las Vegas, Nevada, to Precision Garage Door approved holiday events all throughout the Silver State.

Glittering Lights

When: November 13, 2015 – January 3, 2016

Where: Las Vegas Motor Speedway

What: Dazzling residents for the past twelve years, Glittering Lights with three million lights along a 2.5 mile course, is Nevada’s largest holiday drive-thru light show. This affordable, family-oriented event makes for a great holiday experience for family and friends. There are special events almost every night.

Cost: $20 per car or $55 per season pass

Magical Forest

When: November 20, 2015 – January 3, 2016

Where: Opportunity Village

6300 West Oakey Boulevard

Las Vegas, NV 89146

What: Experience the magic of the holidays at the annual Magical Forest. The Magical Forest, located at Opportunity Village, features a forest filled with hundreds of dazzling trees, the Forest Express passenger train, Cheyenne’s Enchanted Carousel, Boris the Elf’s 3D Experience, Avalanche Slide, Rudolph’s Raceway, and so much more.

Cost: Admission only for adults is $11.99 and for children $9.99. Admission with unlimited rides and attractions for adults is $21.99 and for children $18.99. There is also an additional $1.50 service fee added to each ticket when ordered online.

The Ice Rink at The Cosmopolitan

When: November 20, 2015 – January 3, 2016

Where: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

What: For the fourth consecutive year, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas welcomes the return of The Ice Rink, as Boulevard Pool is transformed into a winter wonderland high about Las Vegas Boulevard. The Ice Rink features more than 4,200-square-feet of real ice, S’mores by the fire, light snow showers, seasonal culinary offerings, and breathtaking views.

Cost: All day skating access is just $15, and from Monday to Friday, all day skating access for residents of Nevada just $10. Visitors are invited to bring their own skates or can rent a pair for $5. Skate aid rentals, for the little ones, are also available for $10. Admission to the unique winter atmosphere is free.

Santa in the Shipwreck

When: December 5-6, 12-13, 19-24, 2015

Where: Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

What: Have you been naughty or nice? Santa Claus is going to great depths this holiday season to visit kids during the annual Santa in the Shipwreck. With each paid admission, guests 12 and under receive a treat and complimentary photo with the big man himself, and his faithful sidekick Santa Jaws.

Cost: Admission for adults is $20; $14 for children (4-12); and free for those 3 or younger

WinterFest

When: December 10-12, 2015

Where: Henderson Convention Center & Events Plaza

What: Mixing the merriment and magic of the holidays, WinterFest makes for some jolly good fun. Experience the excitement of a winter wonderland with activities for the entire family, including a Christmas tree lighting, Santa Claus visits, children’s activities and entertainment. Don’t miss the WinterFest Evening Light Parade at 5 p.m. on December 12.

The Rocky Horror Christmas Show

When: December 5, 2015 @ 10:00pm

Where: Tropicana Regency Cinemas

What: Come spend the holidays at Dr. Frank N. Furter’s castle, and go see the Rocky Horror Picture Show, hosted by the Las Vegas cast of Frankie’s Favorite Obsession. This yearly tradition has many goodies in store for all those attending including an Ugly Christmas Sweater content. But hurry, tickets sell out fast!

Cost: Admission is $10. You can also purchase prop kits for an additional $2

Downtown Summerlin Holiday Parade

When: November 24 – December 24, 2015

Where: Downtown Summerlin

Sahara Avenue and 215 Beltway

What: The whole Downtown is on parade for the holiday! Join Downtown Summerlin for 20 nights from 7:00-7:30pm each night beginning November 20th and ending December 24th for festively decorated floats. In addition to a parade of floats, there are toy soldiers, snowflake princesses and princes, nutcrackers, dancers, drummers, and holiday music to help bring out the holiday spirit in all who attend.

Great Santa Run

When: December 5, 2015

Where: Downtown Las Vegas

What: There’s nothing quite like watching 10,000+ Santas race across town! The Las Vegas Great Santa Run is one of Opportunity Village’s most important fundraisers that attracts families, businesses, individuals, and global tourists to downtown Las Vegas.

Cost: Spectators can watch for free. To enter the race, however, there is a $10 charge for pets, $40 for children (12 and younger), and $65 for adults. All race registrations include a 5-piece Santa suit, participant medal, and runner goodie bag!
